Our Organisation

The Black Families Education Support Group is a voluntary organisation providing a free service for Black and Minority Ethnic families and communities in relation to the education system.

If you have a concern or problem about any aspect of your children’s education we can help you by:

  • Providing information and advising you on the action to take.
  • Helping you voice your concerns and providing support at any meetings or appeal panels you may have to attend.
  • Ensuring schools and other educational organisations are responding effectively to your concerns.
  • Offering free educational activities for your children.
  • Providing guidance and training for schools or colleges.
  • Contacting other agencies on your behalf.

Our Aims

  • To promote racial equality and challenge racism in the education system.
  • To ensure the education system prepares all pupils for life in a multicultural society.
  • To raise awareness of the issues affecting Black and Minority Ethnic students in education.
  • To give Black and Minority Ethnic individuals an effective voice in the education system.
  • To enhance the educational and career development of Black and Minority Ethnic young people.
  • To ensure effective educational policy development in relation to racial equality.
